The post that received the most engagement on Facebook was the post I made for my sister’s birthday. There were several photos of us and other family members included in it which caused them and other friends that know us to like comment and share. No one like’s my Facebook page. It’s very old and I tend to only use it for family purposes.

My Twitter account is also very low key. I have twenty-five followers, which are all friends of mine. The tweet with the most engagement is the one where I tweeted my midterm article and it was favorited and retweeted. This tweet included a link and a hashtag, it was also about a topic that a lot of my followers are interested in.

The day my WIX page had the most traffic was the day that I tweeted the link to my article. My article was visited eighteen times compared to my other blog posts that were only viewed twice. This traffic had to have come from Twitter because that is where I made my post public. In total I have had around twenty people visit my site.

Some important take aways that Anthony Adornato talks about in chapter six of his guide, Mobile and Social Media Journalism are that social media optimization can help posts stand out which is important because social media is often the first place users go for news. When creating a post with visuals it is important to catch the reader’s attention, bringing them to the scene of the news. It is also important to include a description to explain the visuals. Hashtags help the post become a part of a larger crowd and conversation, it can also help a journalist find more information if a hashtag already exists for the story. Sharing a link to a story can help greatly increase the views of the story.
